A television

Is showing rockets silent;

The Shadow in the oil painting

On the wall

Of the clinic

Has horses in it

And a sparkling river beside.

Some are sleeping

Through announcements.

Some are trying to hide it.

One lady holds her children

Like lost souls and

Another sets them

In a stranger’s lap.

Maybe she’ll come back.
