Draper:

 

No flag could cover

You like mine, it watches

And waves to you from

Polluted city stairs

Littered with uncared for news,

World and birth announcements,

The scared.

 

Semi’s, cargo planes,

Individual passenger vehicles,

Elevators, Ferry’s come under me-

I pledge you will enjoy this duty.

Crime scene investigators

Need not apply,

Presidents are unnecessary,

Birthdays and Thanksgiving

Always come early and

Loved ones never lie

Or die.
