Houston | brutmystik's Blog

I found out a few days ago that my father was going to have to work for two years in Houston; he will have to relocate until the job is finished.

I found out yesterday that my mother is going with him. I didn't tell you, she had a stroke in her eye, and her health is declining because of her diabetes. She wears an eye patch most of the time. It may heal in 9 months, or it might not. I know that it will be better for her to go with him...for her health and her spirit.

How long is two years again?

Oh wow, Brut. I know how much you adore your father...but Houston isn't the other side of the world. It's actually a pretty cool city. I drive from Alabama every summer to spend time with my brother and his family.

it will be hard to get a week off for me, but I know what you are saying. I really shouldn't have posted this-it is too personal to really understand what kind of grief I feel-it is about them being out of my sight. It seems stupid, and I may seem dramatic-thanks again, for commenting, when.

When said "I know how much you adore your father"...yes, I love my dad. But my dad isn't having mini-strokes...so if you want to know where my concern lies, it is there. That something could happen, and she would be far away.

Sorry girl. Sometimes I take for granted how easy it is for me to drop and run if I want/need to. It's not like that for everyone, obviously. Sorry if I seemed insensitive. I really didn't mean to be. I can look at my comment now and see how glib it sounds...
