The first primetime show I remember was Maude.
The eyes, the husky sarcasm, the slanted wisdom framed in feathered thick salt and pepper…seeing a woman that was saying “NO” to people or more specifically to the established principles of racism, gender discrimination and sexuality was catastrophically beautiful in the wake of Stonewall, Rowe versus Wade and the Viet Nam war.
She was a beautiful singer.
I am positive that she smelled like cinnamon and a clean canister vacuum. She was mental Spearmint.
