Chris, Thank You. | brutmystik's Blog

I never really knew much about him except that he was always very nice, soft spoken and distracted. I knew he liked to read because he came to EP and read some of my blogs; he emailed me and let me know that they made him smile. I thought, what a nice guy, you know. That was a year ago.
Chris came in today; (Chris if you read this-I like the longer hair, it suits you). He had mentioned that he was not keeping up with my posts and would have to start reading them again. He asked how my “project” was going. Cool, I thought, what a nice guy. And then he said “I always thought your stuff would look good done with marionettes” and went on to explain some various techniques. He struggled in a way, to tell me about the blog he liked, the one about not being able to take the action figure home from my Grandma and Grandpa’s house. He said he understood, because that had happened to him too. He smiled when he talked of it. Then I smiled. It was great. Nice, wonderful, fantastic. Then he said he was of to Los Angeles to work on a video. He builds miniature sets and his partner makes the marionettes for rock videos (Schism by Tool, for one); he also shows art and makes jewelry. He offered his skills and time to me-“I have no money…” and he smiled again, and quietly dismissed my remark. “It’s okay” I was floored, like, who has the kind of luck I have?
Chris you made my day. I know you meant it, and I hope you do send me that link J Thank you for offering to work with me-that is amazing, but do you know what really made me happy?
That you remembered and loved that innocent little reflection. Stay safe in the big city and take care.
